Stacked Decks: The Art and History of Erotic Playing Cards

I collect vintage playing cards, and this book is right up my alley. It's like an exhibition of the very kinds of cards that inspired my collection, although not all my decks are girlie-oriented. While the book is not promoted as a burlesque item, it does present cards that feature burlesque performers such as my beloved Candy Barr, and it shows an amazing deck from 1940 with a series of watercolors that demonstrate a charming striptease. There are French nudes, girl-fights, and lots of gorgeous pinups. The cards featured evolve from the 1800s, featuring a deck with images of burlesque performers c. 1890, through the 1970s. If you like burlesque and girlie memorabilia, you'll be in heaven!

Gosh, here I go plugging myself again. I also have custom decks of playing cards by 666Photography. We use them at Varietease Burlesque's Games & Dames events.
